Happy Thanskgiving weekend everyone!
Here are some resources and upcoming events to spur us on as we seek to passionately follow Jesus. We hope that somewhere in these links and descriptions you find a next step for yourself into the richness of life together as we seek to learn from Jesus.
All I (Shawn) wanted was an excuse to share the song “I Will Not Take These Things For Granted” with you.
To me it is the perfect Thanksgiving Song – a litany of all of the small, mundane-yet-beautiful things that make up our lives and the memories that become a source of warmth and comfort during hard times. I return to this song often. But that’s just my perfect Thanksgiving song.
So I asked the rest of our staff to chose their Thanksgiving songs, because we all have different songs that encapsulate thankfulness for us in unique and varied ways.
Thanks to Hannah Hunt, James Wheeler, Julia Loewen, Clyde Glass, Joy Lusk, Fernando Ebanks, Brett Ashton, and Jayne Burnham for their contributions to this playlist. (And a special shoutout to both Brett and Clyde who said they also would have chosen “I Will Not Take These Things for Granted” if I hadn’t called dibs on it…)
Our Annual General Meeting is right around the corner and you are invited! In anticipation of the meeting we have prepared an online Annual Report that is filled with stories and ministry updates from the last year.
This year’s meeting will be fully online so registration will be required. Registration is currently live and closes on October 12. Please note that, while anyone can attend, only members may vote on motions and Elder nominations.
this week we shared some Spiritual Gifts Resources as a follow up to last week’s teaching by Sam Seifert. If you haven’t had a chance to check them out, I encourage you to do so that you may grow in understanding of how God has made you and how you can express the fullness of that in your life.
A great taste of the small group experience without the long-term commitment. And that’s all I’m going to say about that because I’m going to let Fernando explain, not only Exploring Small Groups, but also why we are so excited about Small Groups at Southview.
Post high school is a world of firsts and new experiences. Come and join us as we build a community of young adults who want to step into this world with Jesus! Pizza night includes safely distributed ‘za and discussion on all the toppings for a full life in God. Cost is $2.
