For this week’s midweek worship, we would like to share a beautiful prayer walk for reconciliation. “Sole to Soul” was developed by the Wechetowin ministry of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land as part of their Indigenous Learning Journey. We are honoured to share this guide with you and hope it will prompt reflection in your own walk.
Midweek Worship | Prayers for Ordinary Time
During each week of Ordinary Time, our gatherings begin with a video to draw us together into a collective posture of worship. The video itself has many images that we hope will prompt different thoughts, feelings, ideas and responses that can illuminate what God may be inviting us into during this season. For this week’s Midweek Worship, we’ve invited a handful of our pastors and staff to reflect and meditate on a single image from the Gathering Video and to respond with a prayer for this Ordinary Time. These prayers come from Brett, Mary, Jesus, James and Fernando.
Midweek Worship | Psalm 23 Meditation
“O Lord, our Shepherd, you have led us into spacious places, where we find living water and rest for our souls.”
We offer you this visual meditation, not as a piece of content to keep up with, but as an invitation for you to take a moment to be still. Give yourself the gift of a moment to breathe. And when the visual meditation is done, allow yourself to linger with it, listening, before returning to all that this day has for you.
Midweek Worship | The Promise of Life – A Prayer
Also this week on Youtube & Instagram, we invited you to take a moment to pray with the full version of the adapted prayer that is part of our current Call to Listen. The original prayer is from the folks at Joy in Enough and it is a prayer that prompts reflection. It’s always a good time to be still and listen for the whispered vision of a new way of life.
The Nations Sing | Nara Ekele Mo
As a follow-up to Sam’s message this past weekend, we would like to share with you this beautiful rendition of “Nara Ekele Mo,” a song of thanksgiving.
Praying in Light of Tragedy
With humble hearts we can pray with the things that move us, break us, enrage us, and overwhelm us. In this blog post we share some simple starter prompts – a litany of sorts – to help us move beyond merely screaming at our phones.
Midweek Worship: Creation Weekend
During our services on October 17 & 18, we’ll be celebrating Creation Weekend. We invite you to slow your pace over the next several days, and revel in the beauty and splendour of the works of His hand.
Practicing Humility | Judy Wiebe
Humility is the desire to become more like Jesus, as he chose to pursue love over power. How do we cultivate a gentle and humble heart for such a time as this? Pull out your journal and take some time for reflection.
Breath Prayer | Judy Wiebe
Breath prayers are simple words or phrases that help you to centre on God within the space of an inhale and exhale. Try this prayer method as you go about your week.
